I have served 20 years with the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office as a professional law enforcement officer in a variety of positions that, I believe gives me the skills and experience necessary to provide good, positive leadership as your Saline County Sheriff. I will start day one using my experience to restore the integrity of the Saline County Sheriff’s Office. I want to be a part of our impressive growth and the success of our communities by helping to create a safe, drug free environment for today, as well as our future.
About Captain Haynes:
Captain Haynes currently serves as Commander of the Criminal Investigations Division for the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Department. He has worked in leadership positions in patrol, professional standards, special services and training. In addition he serves as Commander of the Pulaski County SWAT team which he has been a member for the last 18 years. Prior to the Criminal Investigations assignment he was Patrol Division Commander. Captain Haynes has received the Sheriff’s Star and Chief’s Medal plus medals for leadership, achievement and merit and was selected as VFW Deputy of the Year. He is a member and past president of the Arkansas Tactical Officers Association.
Captain Haynes served in the United States Army in the 2nd Armored Division, First Calvary Division and the 2nd Infantry Division as a Combat Engineer. He participated in Desert Shield and Desert Storm and is a recipient of numerous military awards. He has an Associate of Arts degree and has received specialized training in family and domestic violence, fraud prevention, rescue, drug enforcement, first response and hostage negotiations. He is also a certified firearms instructor and certified professional law enforcement instructor.
Captain Haynes and his wife, Karyn, have been married 22 years and are the parents of two school age children. They attend First Methodist Church of Benton and are members of the Benton Jr. High Booster Club. He is an avid deer hunter and outdoorsman.
